Gemdrop's loyalty tiers work differently, and the difference is worth understanding before you decide what to do with your gems. There are four tiers — Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond — and you move up by freezing part of your gems. Each tier multiplies the rewards you earn from every task, and your gems are available again the moment you unfreeze them.

Four tiers, one rule

Everyone starts at Bronze. Above it sit Silver, Gold and Diamond, in that order. The only thing that moves you between them is how many of your gems you have frozen.

Freezing is exactly what it sounds like. You take part of your gem balance and set it aside. Those gems stay yours, they stay in your account, and they count toward your tier for as long as they remain frozen. Freeze enough and you move from Bronze to Silver; freeze more and you reach Gold, then Diamond. The app shows what each tier requires, so you always know where you stand and how far the next one is.

There is no time limit and no annual reset. Your tier is a reflection of what is frozen right now, nothing more.

What a tier actually does

Each tier multiplies the rewards on every task. That word, every, is the important one. The multiplier is not attached to a particular brand, a particular kind of task or a special event. It applies to whatever loyalty task you complete while you hold that tier — reaching a milestone in a puzzle game, trying a new feature in a language app, answering a short brand survey.

It also stacks with the other ways you earn more. Daily streaks, quick quests and referrals all sit on top of ordinary tasks, and your tier multiplies them too. Freezing is not spending

This is the part that deserves a plain statement. Frozen gems are not gone. You have not exchanged them for a tier the way you would exchange them for a gift card. They are still your gems, sitting in your account, and the moment you unfreeze them they are available again to redeem or to use however you like.

The trade-off is only about timing. While gems are frozen, you cannot redeem them, because they are doing a different job. Unfreeze them and that job stops, your tier adjusts to whatever remains frozen, and the gems are back in your spendable balance immediately.

So the honest way to think about a tier is as a choice between two things you could do with the same gems — redeem them now, or let them earn you more on future tasks first. Neither is wrong. It depends on what you want from Gemdrop.

How to decide whether moving up is worth it

Start with a simple question. Are you going to keep completing loyalty tasks for a while, or did you come for a specific redemption?

If you have an app you open most days, tasks you enjoy and a habit of coming back, a higher tier pays for itself over time. Every task you complete from now on is worth more, and the gems you froze are still there whenever you want them. In that case, freezing early tends to be the better order, because the multiplier applies to the earnings that come after it.

If you have a target in mind — a gift card for something specific this week — redeeming first is perfectly sensible. You can always freeze later when the balance builds back up. Gemdrop is a way to get rewarded for what you already do, and there is no prize for holding a tier you are not using.

A tier is not a shortcut. It multiplies what you earn, so if you complete no tasks, it multiplies nothing. The gain comes from consistency — the tasks you complete, the streak you keep, the quick quests you tick off — and the tier makes each of those worth more.

A tier is also not a status you can lose by accident. There are no expiry dates and no monthly quotas. The only way your tier changes is if you change what is frozen. If you unfreeze to redeem a large amount, your tier drops accordingly, and that is the intended behaviour, not a penalty.
